“Black womanin’ by Black women” photo series highlight the variations of Black women in society. Through this series, the concept of “what a woman ‘looks like’ or ‘acts like’ is dissected + we are reminded of Sojourner Truth’s “Aint I a Woman” speech questioning the validity of her womanhood against the white male’s gaze – – – later adapted to include the Black male’s gaze.

respectfully, i don’t give a f*ck about the male’s perspective of her unless you are celebrating Her. this is not a space to discuss struggle Olympics nor go back & forth about anything besides the beauty and struggle of the Black woman globally.

watch how we Black woman out here.
